Hello Everyone!

I am finally home for the summer months. I’ve logged several thousand miles since September 2011, traveling from coast-to-coast, North and South, crisscrossing the United States, visiting schools and libraries. It’s been a ton of fun! Everywhere I went, I met some fantastic people. If you happen to be one of them, thank you! Sometimes, the traveling can be a bit grueling, but it sure is wonderful to meet so many kind and generous people.

Project update:

As you can see, several new American Chillers books have been released, along with the long-awaited Michigan Chillers #15: Calumet Copper Creatures. Despite my hectic travel schedule, I’ve been getting a lot of writing done. I usually go to sleep around seven o’clock in the evening and get up around one or two in the morning. I know that sounds crazy, but it allows me to get four or five hours of writing done before the sun rises. I’m not on that schedule right now, but I will probably get back to it after AuthorQuest.

Look for American Chillers #35: Maniac Martians Marooned in Massachusetts to be released over the summer, along with #36: Carnivorous Crickets of Colorado. My next American Chillers book will take place in Utah. Don’t hold your breath for another Michigan Chillers book in the near future, as I am going to focus on finishing the American Chillers series. There will be a total of 50 books (one for every state), so I have 13 more to go. Better get busy! those of you hoping for new Michigan Chillers: don’t worry.I will probably go back and write more Michigan Chillers series when I finished the American Chillers books.

Also: the long-awaited Freddie Fernortner, Fearless First Grader book 12: Frankenfreddie is nearly complete. I had to put that project “on hold” for a little while to finish up a few other things. Another project that is nearing completion: Creepy Campfire Chillers Volume 2. The stories are written, and all I need to do is to get into the studio and record them. Of course, I’ve been trying to do that for a long time! However, I have a new portable “digital” studio that will allow me to record these stories anywhere, so I’m hoping to get them wrapped up and to my producer very soon.

Thousands of students all across the United States followed one of my recent books, Mansion of Madness, this spring. I’ll be doing this special program once again over the next school year beginning in October. This new story will be called The Haunted Toy Chest, and will be delivered free of charge, chapter by chapter on a weekly basis, online. The book will be about 30 chapters, so it will span the entire school year. More information will be posted on the main page soon.

AuthorQuest is almost here, and I can’t wait! This will be our first year to hold our camps in Wolverine, Michigan, at Wolverine Camps. There are 360 wooded acres with tons of trails, upon, streams . . . quite simply, the place is absolutely gorgeous, and a perfect place to hold AuthorQuest. Both camps filled up quickly this year, and I expect our 2013 camps to fill up even faster. Applications for next year’s camps will be available on the website very soon, so if you’re interested in attending, make sure you fill out yours, complete your essay, and send it in as soon as you can.

Mrs. Chillers and our three dogs, Lily Munster, Scooby-Boo, and Spooky Dude are doing great. We had a health scare over the winter with Spooky Dude. He had to have emergency surgery to remove a very large tumor in his stomach. He’s made a full recovery and is doing very well. Here’s a picture of him just one day after his surgery:

Yes, that’s my shirt he’s wearing to cover-up the long scar on his belly. Here’s a picture of Lily Munster:

And here’s Scooby-Boo:

Here’s a video from last year. We take the dogs dock jumping every day, as long as the weather is good:
