Author Quest June, 2014
Instructors

Here are our instructors for the June Camp.

Ann Rowland is the Author Quest Camp Director. She keeps the engines running, and encourages campers to discover who they are as writers. She’s awake first, asleep last, and keeps one eye open in between. When she’s not at Author Quest, she’s a freelance writer.

Michal Jacot comes to us from East Tawas, MI. He’s a playwright, an illustrator, a great instructor, and a very funny man. This year at Author Quest he’ll present a writeshop called Get it in Writing. Welcome back, Michal!

Rachel Mills is back for the third time, bringing her expertise in creative non-fiction writing. Rachel teaches creative writing at Northern Michigan University, and, more notably, at Author Quest! She lives in Marquette.

Steve Ritchie returns to Author Quest from Owen Sound, Ontario. As a songwriter, he is expert at choosing the word that gets the most work done, and choosing the right words for a story’s time and setting. There will be music!

Who knew that such a dynamic teacher lived just up the road? John McLintock brings his passion for life, writing, and encouraging young people, to Author Quest once again. Caring and funny, John makes the walk to the Trapper’s Cabin memorable, no matter what he teaches.

Johnathan Rand. So many books. So many stories. So many kids turned on to reading. At Author Quest, Johnathan Rand shares all his secrets for writing great stories, and helps campers realize their own potential. Lots of laughter, lots of stories, and regular visits from Mrs. Chillers and the Rand dogs, Lily Munster and Scooby Boo.
